Have all the best stories been taken?

Fall is full of bittersweet notions. Its short, beautiful life is a tip off to coming events. Death. The death of our roses, our tomatoes, the end of long days, the end of our life. Maybe celebrations of the ‘old-style All Hallow’s Eve’ that acknowledged the dead, to be followed the day after by honoring Saints gave people a tangible sense of the often abstract nature of beginnings and endings, light and dark. Cat lover or coffee addict? Maybe both?

If it were possible, I would own a real bookstore. An impractical dream I know, but it’s one I cherish and like to imagine how it would look. I know it would smell like coffee and be a cozy welcoming place with plenty of ambiance. Maybe something like this one below. For now, though, I have to be content with my Amazon store.
