How Guardian Cats became an Amazon best seller

In case you didn’t already hear this somewhere else, Guardian Cats and the Lost Books of Alexandria made it to Amazon’s Best Seller list last week. This totally caught me by surprise. I published Guardian Cats in June, so it’s been out almost six months now. Sales have been modest… but steady. On an average, I was selling one or two a day. Nothing to crow about, but I was happy. I’ve given myself a writing assignment — to come up with 20 short story ideas in 20 days. I’m energizing the Muse, giving it free rein.
