The shortest post on the shortest day | Winter Solstice

Every year, I look forward to the Winter Solstice because it reminds me that no matter how dark it is, things will brighten. After tonight – the longest night of the year – every day will be infused with one minute more of sunshine. I get an inordinately extravagant amount of hope by this annual turn of events. Short story challenge: 20 stories in 20 days

There are times when a writer just gets stuck. Not ‘writer’s block’ stuck, but in a  ’motivationally challenged’ kind of way. That was me in November. My book came out in July and was having modest success. People were asking about a sequel and I had begun developing a storyline which I was excited about.
