The world of business is changing rapidly. The UK digital transformation market size was valued at 24.90 billion US dollars in 2021 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.2% from 2022 to 2030 (Grand View Research, 2021). Organisations need to adapt the way they interact with their markets and customers, and they need digitally focused managers who can work in a digital context, create appropriate strategies, formulate, and understand the benefits of digital transformation.

Through this programme, you will learn how to face the challenges of working within organisations that have undergone or are undergoing digital transformation. You’ll gain sought-after managerial and practical skills such as communication, business processes and agile methodology, becoming a leader who knows how to make the most of the benefits of digital transformation and to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

This course is delivered as part of a partnership between QA ºÚÁÏÍø and the University of Roehampton. The programme is validated by the University and delivered by QA ºÚÁÏÍø.

Teaching and Assessment

Lectures, seminars, and workshops: 12 hours per week
Independent study: 38 hours per week

To thrive in the digital era, you will need to think digitally – our blended learning approach allows you to do just that. You’ll get the best of both worlds with up to 50% of your course delivered online, building your confidence ready to succeed in a digital workplace.

You will receive the same number of live contact hours as face-to-face programmes and have a module specifically designed to cover learning and working digitally. A typical timetable may include:

  • Daytime students: 2 days of tuition per week – your sessions will be on-campus for 1 of those days and the other day will take place live online.
  • Evening and weekend blended timetables will typically follow one of the below patterns each week:
    • 2 evenings live online and 1 weekend day face-to-face on-campus, or
    • 2 evenings face-to-face on-campus and 1 weekend day live online

All modules are core and worth 20 credits, unless otherwise stated.

Develop the key research skills necessary to successfully complete the final dissertation module.

  • Learn essential skills to undertake research at Masters’ level, focusing on how to research applied issues to help generate insights and help inform and underpin decisions
  • Discover how to formulate research questions, decide on appropriate data collection methods, choose the correct approach to data analysis and data visualisation
  • Learn how to interpret and analyse results
  • Get specific guidance on how to undertake a major, sustained, and original piece of research

Carry out an independent piece of original research based on what you learned in the Researching Digital Developments module, choosing your own area of interest within digital business and business management. Some examples for dissertations are:

  • Embark on a consultancy project approach, to act as a consultant and advise a business on development of an effective digital strategy
  • Act as a manager for a digital implementation project
  • Undertake an analysis of data captured by digital systems to extract business insights and inform business activity

Academic requirements:

  • 2:2 Honours Degree from a recognised university, or equivalent

Non-graduates with appropriate professional qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.

English language requirements:

  • IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 5.5 in any band, or equivalent

Please note: we are not currently able to sponsor International students to study this programme at the University of Roehampton Centres therefore if you require sponsorship to study as an International student, this course will be unavailable to you.
