QA 黑料网 is delighted to announce the launch of 3 new International Foundation Programmes (IFPs) at our Pathway College at Northumbria University.

The 3 new Pathways in Applied Science, Computing and Humanities and Social Science add to our existing routes in Art, Design and Media, Business and Engineering.

The new look IFPs have been redesigned to provide more choice and a simpler progression offer for international students looking to study one of the many exciting undergraduate degrees at Northumbria University.

We can now offer a route to almost all of the undergraduate degrees available at Northumbria University.

Students can enter the programme with an IELTS of 4.5 and receive an additional 2 terms of English language support or 1 term for than those entering at a 5.0 IELTS.

• Students with IELTS 4.5 will study a 12-month IFP and can start in either July or October
• Students with IELTS 5.0 will study a 9-month IFP and can start in either October or January

For international students it is crucial to allow enough time to gradually assimilate to UK university life and as such, assessments on the new IFPs are weighted towards the end of the module.

In addition to the English language and academic skills development, each Pathway includes 3 modules specific to each subject area. This will build the subject-specific skills necessary for the successful transition to undergraduate studies.

Commenting on the launch, Director of Pathways Ruth Perkins said “The developments we’ve made to our already successful International Foundation Programme means we can better support our students needs and provide a route to a wider range of undergraduate programmes at Northumbria. We can pick students up with lower IELTS levels, and with assessments being weighted towards the end of the modules, allow students more time to assimilate to UK university life. We look forward to our first cohort in October 2020.
