Aimed at anyone interested in a career in business, QA ’s new International Business Management MSc will develop the professional skills needed to help students excel in a global business environment.

The International Business Management MSc expands on QA ’s portfolio of career-focused business programmes and is the first to be offered at postgraduate level in partnership with London Metropolitan University.

What is International Business Management?

International Business Management (IBM) is, essentially, managing a business on a global scale. This can include business operations and logistics, finances, strategy planning, leading and developing people, sustainability, global marketing, and more.

Why study International Business Management?

In an increasingly connected world, many businesses are expanding their operations on an international level to secure a share of overseas markets. This requires effective management to ensure a business’ performance meets its objectives, which creates opportunities for new international business management professionals to enter the job market.

Improving job opportunities: How will this new International Business Management MSc help with students’ careers?

QA ’s new MSc IBM with London Metropolitan University teaches business theories and technical skills, with industry-focused training, that will help students gain a competitive edge in the job market or as an entrepreneur on an international level.

Students will study a range of modules including:

  • Operations and Technology Management
  • International Business Strategy with Simulation
  • Leading and Developing People
  • Digital Marketing and Social Media
  • A Dissertation or Consultancy Project

All of which will give students a strong overview of the international business world, enabling them to successfully explore business opportunities and solve problems as managers or entrepreneurs without boundaries.

Potential career opportunities following successful completion of the course include (but are not limited to):

  • Marketing and Sales Director
  • Purchasing Manager/Director
  • Services Management
  • Logistics Manager/Director
  • Entrepreneur/Company Director
  • Business (and related) Associated Professional
  • Customer Service Managers

How will the MSc IBM be taught?

The International Business Management master’s programme will be taught using a blended learning model with a mixture of lectures, workshops, and tutorials alongside independent study and assessments, such as individual and group presentations, business report writing, and project-based coursework.

Students will have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice in a live business environment simulation, where they will run a global business as part of a team to gain valuable managerial experience.

Students will also benefit from:

  • Specialised software, such as ShortLister and CareersSet
  • Talks from successful business people
  • Advice on CV, cover letters, and job searches from Career and Employability services
