Fall is full of bittersweet notions. Its short, beautiful life is a tip off to coming events. Death. The death of our roses, our tomatoes, the end of long days, the end of our life. Here Lies the Librarian | Book Review

I love independent bookshops and always keep my eye open for one whenever I travel. This weekend we were in Brookings on the Oregon coast. At the Farmer’s Market, ideally located on the boat harbor, I discovered The Book Dock, owned by Pat Piper and her cat.       One of my purchases was “Here Lies the Librarian” by Richard Peck. What are your favorite picture books?

Since I reviewed The Rice Bag Hammock yesterday, I’ve been caught up looking a picture books, both classics and new releases. I usually think of bedtime-type stories when I think of picture books, but running across this one reminded me of all the ‘how things work’ type of books my kids read.
